Big win fo Wetangula: Wetangula's man trounced Ruto's UDA candidates

Wafula wakoli of Ford-kenya beats UDA and Azimio la Umoja candidates to emerge the winner in the just concluded senatorial election in Bungoma. Wafula Wakoli who garnered 64,009 votes, while his closest competitor Mwambu Mabonga of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), received 45,682 votes. Wafula Wamunyinyi of Azimio la Umoja's candidate in the mini-polls, came at a distance third position in race after managing 22,296 votes.

Wakoli's win comes afted Azimio La umoja allince candidate Wafula Wamunyinyi claims of election malpractice by Ford-kenya party agents led by Moses Wetangula, Wamunyinyi expressed his dissatisfaction on the way the election were carried.

Ford Kenya's win in Bugoma a manifestation of the party's firm grip in the region after enjoying a massive positions in the August election. The Bungoma polls showed sibling rivalry between Kenya Kwanza affiliated party UDA and Ford kenya but Ford kenya has proved their superiority in the region.

The Azimio la Umoja Coalition that depended on the political experience of Wafula Wamunyinyi in the region did not yield any fruit has the region seems to open the gap from the former prime Minister Raila Odinga's massive support in the region.
