On Friday, January 13, President William Ruto started a two-day working tour in the Nyanza area, where he is anticipated to announce the start of various development projects.
The head of State arrived at Kabunde Airstrip in Homa Bay County, where he was received by a number of officials, including Governor Gladys Wanga, Interior PS Raymond Omollo, ICT CS Eliud Owalo, and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
Prior to commissioning the recently finished Oyugis market and breaking ground for the Homa Bay fish market, President Ruto is anticipated to announce the first phase of the 5,000 affordable housing initiative for Homa Bay County.
He will also oversee the opening of the Blue Economy Research Hub at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST).
The ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo's homecoming celebration would thereafter be attended by President Ruto on January 14, 2023, in Siaya County.
