Truth That Azimio Failed to Tell Uhuru During Campaigns Finally Revealed by Ex-Governor Muriithi

Ndiritu Muriithi, an economist and former Laikipia County governor has finally opened up months later after losing his seat. Muriithi has provided snippets of what went wrong making Azimio to suffer a huge loss in the last election which Raila Odinga is yet to come to terms with.

According to Muriithi, what Uhuru Kenyatta was not aware about is that Kenyans were angry and disillusioned by the stagnation as well as worsening of their economic situation.

"Welfare is deteriorating even as top-line GDP is increasing, and access to financial services is at an all-time high of 84 percent of adults. They (Kenyans) may see beautiful roads, but the percentage of Kenyans who are financially insecure has more than doubled in the last five years." Ndiritu Muriithi stated.

According to Muriithi, this is what caused a revolt against Uhuru Kenyatta’s support for Raila Odinga. Muriithi affirmed that Kenyans who are financially insecure had increased from 15% to 39% as outlined in the Financial Access report by Central Bank of Kenya, KNBS, and FSD Kenya.

The ex-governor added that the struggling means that Kenyans are sometimes going without food and medicine and thus cannot save for emergencies or invest for the future contributed to the outcome of the last polls.
