Raila Spotted Chewing Miraa In Meru : Photo

Earlier today, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga paid a visit to Meru county where he took his campaigns ahead of the anticipated 2022 general elections. He was accompanied by several governors and other leaders including Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi and Suna East Member of parliament Junet Mohammed. The topic of the discussion in th3 campaigns was about the market for miraa which is the most grown cash crop in the county.

As he campaigned, the Orange Democratic Movement party leader was spotted holding a piece of the crop and even went on to chew some of it. This was received with lauding from the crowd that went to witness the leader. He made the people happy as they have for a long time embraced the crop and even encourage others to use it.

Leaders present in the campaign meeting went on to promise the residents to open international markets for them. Mombasa governor went on to state that he will see through that taxes on the crop are withdrawn.
