Nairobi Women Caucus have come out to strongly pray for the nation in the wake of third wave of Covid-19 pandemic that has been seen as a threat to Kenyan lives.
Speaking on Sunday in South C after a church service , the Nairobi County Assembly women caucus Chairperson Hon Doris Kanario said that as women they have decided to set today as a special day for prayers for the whole nation so that God can rescue Kenyans and the whole world at large out of danger from Covid-19 pandemic.
"Lord this Covid-19 has been given so many names, but your name God is greater than all other names, please help us," Doris noted.
The Honorable Mca also noted that, the virus has claimed lives of many other leaders in the country, saying that it's high time Kenyans be careful and adhere to the ministry of health protocols when carrying on their daily activities.
" Our lord, I don't know how you will do it to save our lives, but my trust is in you God, this virus is dangerous to us," Doris added.
The women caucus leader has also assured president Uhuru Kenyatta of their full support in the fight against this pandemic, adding that already as women caucus they are also trying their level best to sensitize other Kenyans on the need to keep social distance, use of face mask among others.
"We want to assure our president that, he has our full support, as women leaders we are trying to sensitize our people on need to embrace measures put in place to fight the virus," she added
This comes after Kericho Deputy Governor Susan Kikwai who was battling diabetes succumbed to COVID-19 in the morning hours of Saturday, March 20.
The deputy governor was receiving treatment at Siloam Hospital where she had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Other notable leaders who have contracted the virus are former prime minister Raila Amolo Odinga, Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi among others.
