Raila's Master Planner Gaucho Speaks Over Reports of Being Arrested Ahead of Kamukunji Rally

Raila Odinga's master planner and vocal die-hard supporter Calvins Okoth alias Gaucho (Gaucho Mwana Soja Wa Raila Odinga) has broken his silence after reports of being arrested emerged on Wednesday morning.

From the photos shared online, the self-proclaimed Ghetto President had reportedly been arrested ahead of Azimio la Umoja mega rally at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.

From the photos shared, the vocal Raila supporter could be seen seated on the floor of an unspecified police station with handcuffs on his hands.

Reasons for his alleged arrest remained scanty, with unverified reports claiming that he could have been arrested over his vocal and controversial utterances against the government.

However, the vocal supporter has come out to deny the reports, terming them fake and allegedly spread by UDA lieutenants. Addressing the reports on Wednesday afternoon, Gaucho, who was driving inside a car asked Kenyans to ignore the propaganda, saying he is safe and had not been arrested.

"Those are UDA made-up stories. They are planless and have been trying to mislead the public and send them fear because they know our rally is going to be full. They have been threatening people that Ruto's government had arrested me and could as well arrest them, that is fake, I am here and as you can see, I have my revolution hat on. I ask you to turn up in large numbers and Kenya Kwanza cannot disrupt us," stated Gaucho

This comes just a day after Interior CS Kithure Kindiki warned those who were planning chaos and disrupting peace during the rallies, saying they will be dealt with according to the law.

Gaucho has been so vocal, especially during the Bunge la Wanainchi, and Nairobi meetings and has been talking tough against Ruto and his government. He had promised to lead massive protests against Ruto's government shortly after Raila's announcement.
