IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera resigns days after President Ruto gazetted a tribunal to probe four suspended commissioners; she becomes the second commissioner to resign after Justus Nyangaya. Cherera has decided to take this action for her peace of mind and family protection since she had been trolled across the television channels.Photo courtesy, image used for evidence and illustration purposes only.
The remaining Cherera two are yet to decide whether to resign from holding IEBC offices. Kenyans have given out their views and some have accused president William Samoei Ruto of his actions to ensure that the Cherera four are out of the IEBC position.
Raila Odinga has slammed Ruto that he wants to create his own IEBC commissioners as he is planning for the 2027 general elections.
