As we approach the general elections in Kenya, the race for the Statehouse is getting interesting and murky. Recently, Azimio la Umoja party leader Raila Odinga and Kenya Kwanza party leader William Ruto unveiled their running mate, after Kenya's electoral council gave them a deadline. 
Azimio la Umoja party leader Raila Odinga has announced that Martha Karua will be his running mate and Kenya Kwanza party leader William Ruto unveiled Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka recently decamped from the Azimio la Umoja party, after he was not announced as Raila Odinga's running mate, he is now vying for the presidential seat ahead of the August elections. 
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is barred from running for the seat of Mombasa County Governor, after new details emerged he is not fit to hold the seat. However, the Wiper party promised to replace Mike Sonko with another person.
