To bolt out and run for presidency, to calm down and endorse Martha Karua or opt into the Kenya Kwanza alliance. Kalonzo chose to go for the presidency by himself.
Insiders who spoke to NTV have however revealed that Kalonzo's decision to go for presidency is not final and the aim is not to actually win the elections because it is clear by now that the race is between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza.
According to insiders, Kalonzo is taking chances for greener pastures incase the presidential race proceeds to the second round ( a run off ). Allegedly, Kalonzo is aiming to destabilize the Ukambani vote and the Maa community votes that both Raila, Ruto are hunting to force a run off.
If the country heads a run off, Kalonzo is allegedly planning to use the votes that he will garner in the first round to up his bargaining power with the Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta. He probably wants the the duo to take him more seriously and offer him better power deals incase of a run off.
