Manyora claims that Gachagua is a prominent politician on Mount Kenya because of his outspokenness, and that he has won over many of his opponents by his reputation as a strong negotiator.
"When Gachagua was sitting as an MP for Mathira, he was hardly an unknown figure when Ruto picked him to be his running partner. Gachagua isn't easy to get along with since he's not a pushover and because the way he does things is really nasty. He's a politician with serious ambitions "said Manyora.
The comments by the University of Nairobi professor come after Gachagua recently stated that he is trying to unite the Mount Kenya Region in attempting to recruit the Mt Kenya Leaders from the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance to President Ruto's United Democratic party and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
