Wetangula; Why I'm Defending My Senate Seat Despite 30% Promise in the Event Ruto Wins Presidency

It is now clear that the Ford Kenya party leader who is also the current senator of Bungoma Moses Wetangula will be defending his senate seat after being cleared by the IEBC on Sunday 29th May.

The vocal senator was cleared alongside the Senate speaker Hon. Ken Lusaka who is eyeing the Bungoma governor seat.

Wetangula took the opportunity to explain why he is defending his senate seat despite the 30 percent promise in the event the deputy president William Ruto wins the August presidential contest.

Wetangula noted that as Kenya Kwanza coalition, they are not interested in personal positions, rather their main aim is to ensure that the change lives of the people of Kenya and that is why he is defending his seat to continue serving his Bungoma people.

"Very many people have been asking why I am defending my Bungoma Senate Seat despite the 30 percent promise. I have said it before and I will repeat, I am not interested in personal gains, personal glory and personal aggrandizement," he said.

He said that in the event Ruto wins the presidency, out of the 22 slots for cabinet secretaries, the Ford Kenya and Amani National Congress parties will each have three cabinet secretaries.
