Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka Tells Off CS Wamalwa Over Formation of DAP as he Alleges What Might Happen

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has chastised Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa for forming the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP) in a region where unique parties such as the African National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya exist.

Lusaka, who is targeting the Bungoma Governor's seat in 2022 under the Ford Kenya party, warned that the DAP's launch will most certainly cause fractures within the Luhya community, preventing them from fully supporting their own candidate in the upcoming general elections.

If everyone now comes with their political party, tribalism will develop and we will lose our unity as Kenyans. We already have political parties; therefore, we should strengthen them rather than create new ones. The more national political parties we have, the better, "Lusaka stated.

In Trans Nzoia, Wamalwa and Wafula Wamunyinyi stated that DAP will work for the interests of Western Region residents under Raila Odinga's Azimio La Umoja Movement, informing Mudavadi that his ongoing membership in OKA will ensure that the community remains outside the future government.

Mudavadi and Wetangula have maintained, however, that OKA is united and will be put to the vote in 2022.
