Opposition chief Raila Odinga who has been on a campaign of flattery, friendliness, and cajolement in Uhuru's home turf, Mt Kenya of late was today heckled in Laikipia County. The former Prime Minister encountered hostility in the county has he addressed residents in Nanyuki Town. The ODM leader had been hosted by Laikipia County Governor, Hon Ndiritu Muriithi after he fellowshiped at PCEA Church in Nanyuki.
On his way to a leader’s meeting in the outskirts of Nanyuki town, Raila Odinga had stopped by to address a crowd. No as he started speaking to the crowds than they started chanting pro Ruto and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) slogans.
The Nanyuki visit is part of the efforts to woe Mount Kenya region votes as they will be very much integral in the 2022 presidential polls. The Laikipia Governor has been alleging of late that Mt Kenya region and the country at large owe former prime minister Raila Odinga political debts that should now be paid in the 2022 General Election.
He was accompanied by ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Homa Bay Woman Representative Hon Gladys Wanga, Suna East Member of Parliament Hon Junet Mohammed and Kisii Governor Hon James Ongwae.
