As 2022 general elections come near, different politicians are now bumping all the efforts to popularize themselves among the voters, and making their manifestos known to them. This is also happening in Siaya county. Current siaya senator —James Orengo has been whispered that he will be vying for the gubernatorial position, and the current Siaya county governor has indicated that he will be contesting for a lower seat —Alego Usonga MP seat.
Despite Orengo getting the support of governor Cornel Rasanga for the gubernatorial seat, the senator has indicated that he might not return the favor and back Rasanga for MP. Speaking on Saturday, James Orengo noted that he will not be swayed to support the governor's bid and informed that he will only support Rasanga's rival candidate —Samuel Atandi.
According to Siaya senator, Samuel Atandi has demonstrated during the last term that he works hard and stands a better chance of addressing the interests of his constituents and those of ODM party.
"It is through his hard work and commitment that he was chosen to be a member of the Budget committee," said James orengo, first reported by Nation.
Other leaders who have jolted the governor's move to contest for MP seat includes Rarieda MP —Otiende Amolo. According to him, after completing his two terms at the helm of county office, It would be unfair to go for a lower seat.
