Kenya National Human Rights Commission has announced that the chair of the board Makau Mutua has resigned.
The commission has announced that Mutua who is also Raila Odinga's spokesperson, has stepped down in his role as a chair of KNHRC board and has been replaced by Davinder Lamber as interim chair of the board.
It is alleged that Mutua has stepped aside to concentrate on the campaigns for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
" The Kenya Human Rights commission Is Delighted To Announce the appointment Of Davinder Lamber as interim chair of the board , Makau Mutua has stepped aside from the role of the Board,"KNHCR says in a statement.
Raila appointed Makau Mutua as his spokesperson few months ago and as the election edges Mutua has made a decision to resign in order to concentrate on how they(Azimio) will make Raila the next president.
Makau Mutua has been supporting Raila Odinga in the presidential race since his appointment and has been among the closest people to Raila Odinga.
