The deputy President William ruto was in church service in kiambu county, Kiambaa constituency where he was hosted by the new member of parliament for Kiambaa. The deputy president made remarks following attempt by various political leaders to get votes from Mount Kenya region ahead of 2022 general election. While making his remarks the deputy president said what president Uhuru told him concerning the scheme to win Mount Kenya votes.
The deputy president said that Uhuru told him that doing development projects for the people of Mount Kenya region is the core and the secret of winning votes from the region. He said that those that are attempting to get the support from the region have come too late. He claimed that to get Mount Kenya support he has done it for many years and that those trying to get the support from the region will take years to win the region as he has achieved.
