Africa has been lucky to produce great politicians that have changed the continent over the years. Here is a look at the best the continent has so far had.
Top of the list is none other than the late Nelson Mandela from South Africa. Mandela is the father of African politics and democracy. He spent 27 years in prison during the apertheid period in South Africa. He later became the president and saved his country from colonialism becoming a global icon.
Second on the list is the late Kwame Nkuruma from Ghana. Kwame fought not only for Ghana's independence but also other African countries. He became the first president of Ghana and also African union chairman
Third on the list is the late Nyerere from Tanzania who led them to independence and became their first president. His greatest contribution to the country was the introduction of 'Ujamaa' we commonly know as communism as everything is done as one.
Fourth on the list is Raila Odinga from Kenya. Raila is father of democracy and multipartysm in Kenya. Without him, there would be no political freedom being enjoyed today. He has been in politics for over twenty years and has become a global icon in the process.
Fifth on the list is the late Robert Mugabe from Zimbabwe. Mugabe led Zimbabwe to independence and become their president for over two decades.
