The 2022 General elections are quickly approaching and politicians are switching camps and defecting to parties that they are sure of being elected. This comes in a wake and push by Mt Kenya and especially Central leaders to establish a regional and political unity appears to have lost steam with Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s allies instead opting to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
On Sunday, former Senatorial aspirant in Kiambu County joined Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party. Hon. Karungo wa Thang’wa defected from Mwangi Kiunjuri's The Service Party (TSP) after Ruto's visit to the county yesterday. DP Ruto was attending a Prayer Service at the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (A.I.P.C.A) Gathaithi Church, Githunguri, Kiambu County.
