Big Win For DP Ruto as Another Vocal And Vibrant Politician Supports His 2022 Presidential Bid.

The 2022 General elections are quickly approaching and politicians are switching camps and defecting to parties that they are sure of being elected. This comes in a wake and push by Mt Kenya and especially Central leaders to establish a regional and political unity appears to have lost steam with Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s allies instead opting to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

On Sunday, former Senatorial aspirant in Kiambu County joined Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party. Hon. Karungo wa Thang’wa defected from Mwangi Kiunjuri's The Service Party (TSP) after Ruto's visit to the county yesterday. DP Ruto was attending a Prayer Service at the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (A.I.P.C.A) Gathaithi Church, Githunguri, Kiambu County.

Hon. Karungo wa Thang’wa is a highly ambitious, motivated, highly skilled, and experienced journalist, broadcaster, development communicator, and politician. He is the last born in a family of 13 from Kiambu County and previously served the people of Kiambu in both elective and appointed capacities. He served as Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Ngewa Ward, where he represented his people without a shred of fear whatsoever between 2013-2017, and as CEC for Youth & Sports in Kiambu County Government. With over 15 years of experience in both corporate and public service and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Media Studies from the University of Nairobi. Thang’wa served as the National Organizing Secretary of The Service Party of Kenya.

Despite not making it to be the Senator of Kiambu after garnering about quarter million votes in 2017 general elections, he still remains committed to serving the people of Kenya. During the Jubilee primaries, the Ngewa Member of County Assembly garnered 178,814 votes against Wamatangi who won with 206,282 votes. In the General elections he managed to garner 222,183 votes representing 22.86% of total votes casted in Kiambu County.
