As the country continue to receive election results for various seats, the outgoing Murang'a Women Representative, Honourable Sabina Chege has urged the Kenyan people to remain calm and patient in waiting for the final declaration of the results by electoral body, IEBC.
Through her Facebook page, the vocal women representative stated that there are people who are disseminating misleading information about election results on the social media platforms. She instead asked Kenyans to rely on the results that have been verified by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries.
"I want to call for calm and patience as we continue await official results from the IEBC. During this time be wary of false narratives and misinformation. If it’s not credible media kindly await for official results from the IEBC. Let’s remain calm," posted Sabina Chege on her Facebook page.
To note, misleading information is of the factors that can cause election-related violence, and should be avoided as much as possible.
Meanwhile, the election is not to divide us, it is to help us set up a new group of leaders who will advance the country. It is important that we embrace patience, peace, unity, love and solidarity as we continue to wait results from IEBC.
