The Mount Kenya region has in the recent past been a hot spot for all the top presidential candidates after choosing their running mates from there.
Deputy president William Ruto opened the dance by nominating Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagu and a day after Raila Odinga followed his steps and nominated NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua.
After the events, the two camps therefore formed their campaign troops in the region, with Karua beginning her rally in Kirinyaga towards Meru. It is here at meru that events have however turned, just a day after her exit.
DO Ruto’s wife Rachel Ruto visited the region and mobilized a massive prayerful rally that saw netizens bring about their different reactions applauding her. Below are some of them.
"Azimio mobilised for a whole week na tukakula kakitu before attending. But honestly this one is pure love." says Filomina Kageni said.
"Wapi wale wa kuimba Mama na Baba? This one will send them back to the runningmates interviews." says John Kithinji added.
