Chiefs Walk Out Of Prayer Meeting After Ruto's Ally Reminded Them Of Campaigning For Raila

The Member of Parliament for Maragua, Hon. Mary Wamaua, was taken aback today when the County Commissioner and chiefs stormed out of a prayer ceremony after she reminded them that she had campaigned for the Azimio presidential candidate, Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga.

Here is the quote from Kenyans.co.ke:

"MP Mary Wamaua watches as the County Commissioner and his chiefs leave a prayer service when she tells them to campaign for Azimio,"

In unrelated news, a High Court judge, Justice Antony Mrima, ruled on Friday that section 22(2) of the elections act is not valid. This means that the rule that governors must have a degree to run for office is no longer in effect.

Judge Mrima argues that the provision violates section 180 of the constitution, which states that a candidate for governor must be eligible for election as a member of the county assembly (MCA).
