Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga's right hand person Hon Timothy Wanyonyi who doubles as Westlands MP has brought Nairobi to abrupt standstill ahead of 2022 general election.
While leading an excited crowd flanked with countless Bodaboda riders in all walks within the city, Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful has elongated his campaign curtains to make an official declaration of throwing his spanner in works by joining the race to replace the embattled former Nairobi County Governor Hon Mike Sonko who faced the axe of impeachment On 18th December 2020.
Having been received a huge boost from Mama Ida in his quest to become the county's boss, Hon Timothy Wanyonyi is currently peddling his campaign rides across the city to sell his agenda and manifestos to the electorates with a mammoth crowd of ODM heavyweight confidants taking Azimio la Umoja to ground people.
Earlier on, Mama Ida had overwhelmingly endorsed Wanyonyi's gubernatorial bid by expressing confidence in his leadership skills and state of governance going by set mouthwatering development track record in Westlands. "Timothy Wanyonyi is the best choice for Nairobi County. He has expressed hard work, commitment and leadership skills during his reign as an MP for Westlands. We can't just let his dream go, we will support him to achieve what he aspires to be" Mama Ida said.
At the same time, ODM party leader Raila Odinga stamped Wanyonyi's in a political rall in Makongeni, Nairobi county where the ODM brigade had joined congregants at Legio Maria Church for a holy service. Raila exuded that Hon Wanyonyi's dedication enshrined with loyalty to ODM party taps a hug gain to receive a go-ahead signal to fight for his space in Nairobi County.
Wanyonyi seeks to battle out the incumbent Nairobi Deputy Governor Hon Anne Kananu, successful business woman Kagure, Deputy President William Ruto's ally Margaret Wanjiru among other candidates.
