
Kenya has several public holidays in which Kenyans join their spirit together to celebrate a common goal, it is also in the books that the public holidays play a major factor in promoting the country's national unity.
Public Holidays usually are presided over by the sitting president, the upcoming public holiday in Kenya is set to be held on 12th December 2022 and it is known as Jamhuri day, the day Kenya became a republic.
Former prime minister Raila Odinga who is leading the Azimio One Kenya Alliance in the opposition has revealed plans that will be held parallel to Jamhuri day on the 12th of this December. This forms part of the opposition's efforts to push back against the Ruto-led government.
About the parallel public meeting holding, the former prime minister keeps his word. Raila Odinga is on record for holding a successful Mashujaa day celebration in Kisumu, on October 20th of 2017. The celebrations were meant to pray for the victims of the excessive police force.
