Kitui county governor Charity Ngilu is one of the popular and influential leaders in Ukambani region. She has been in politics for a long time. She has also served in various senior government positions. She is currently serving her first term as Kitui county governor.
Today Kitui residents from Kasiluni blocked the governor's motorcade demanding her address. The joyful residents stood in front of the governor's motorcade forcing it to stand and the governor addressed the residents. She shared about the ongoing county development projects in the county.
The governor was heading to Zombe in Kitui East constituency to hand over an ambulance to Zombe level four hospital. She also launched various water project in the constituency funded by Kitui county government. The governor also inspected other county projects initiated by her county government.
Governor Charity Ngilu is keen on defending her gubernatorial seat. Various influential leaders from Kitui county are gravitating for the gubernatorial seat. The leaders are led by former Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke and former Kitui senator David Musila. Other professionals and senior government officials are also in the gubernatorial race.
