The president of Kenya Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta held a digital press conference at State house Kenya today.
Kenyatta was acompanied by the cabinet secretary for Information Technology Joe Mucheru, former prime minister and Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga with a foreign diplomat from South Sudan.
The president highlighted the importance of technology in the world and how it has accelerated Kenya digital space.
He continued to elaborate how the ICT technologies were in Kenya during the 2019 census data conducted by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS)
"We continue to appreciate how these gadgets were used to deliver our census data on time " stated Kenyatta as he explained the impacts of the mobile data collection devices during census.
President Kenyatta decided to donate some of the equipment to South Sudan, Botswana ,Sierra Leon, Mauritius and Namibia that will help these countries during data collection.
Kenya is one of the countries that have advanced in digital technology that has been expanded to several sectors like the electoral commission.
