According to the star paper today is that the leaders especially MPs from Mt Kenya region are set to market Raila Odinga in the region. This is in efforts to have him gain popularity among the people in of the region ahead of 2022 and cut the influence of the deputy president William Ruto.
However the efforts to market Raila Odinga in Mt Kenya region might yield very little for the fact reason that already the people seemingly are behind the deputy president William Ruto. It's clear DP Ruto has a lot of support in the region something that might work against Raila in the tour.
It's also a fact that Uhuru Kenyatta has not declared of whether he would support Raila Odinga in 2022. The tour of Raila Odinga in Mt Kenya region is therefore premature and highly misplaced for it's not clear if Uhuru Kenyatta will support his ambitions.
It's also a fact that the deputy president William Ruto has majority of the leaders from Mt Kenya region supporting his ambitions. The tour of Raila Odinga might therefore have little impact for most leaders of influence are already behind William Ruto who they believe has the interest of the region at heart.
