Alabama is a southeastern U.S. state that’s home to significant landmarks from the American Civil Rights Movement. Today they made history when Alabama's State Legislature voted to legalise medical marijuana on late Thursday becoming most recent state to possibly approve its use.
Cannabis, also known as marijuana among other names, is a psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant used primarily for medical and recreational purposes.
Netizens went wild on twitter after its legalization with some like QuoteDigger commenting, "The House version of SB 46 passed 68-34 in the chamber with bi-partisan support Thursday after a vote on the measure had been blocked by Republicans during a nearly nine-hour debate in the chamber Tuesday night. The legislation now heads to Gov. Kay Ivey's desk for her signature."
Another fan by the name Mike Alexander wrote, "Hey, Alabama just voted to legalize marijuana. I thought CT was a tad more progressive. We’re surrounded by states that have legalized. When can Nutmeggers expect the same?"
