Juliana Cherera Follows Mutahi Ngunyi's Honourable Solution After President Ruto Suspended Her

Juliana Cherera Follows Mutahi Ngunyi's Honourable Solution After President Ruto Suspended Her.

A few days after President William Ruto suspended the four IEBC commissioners pending further investigations into their conduct of rejecting the August 9th election results announced by Wafula Chebukati, Cherera hollowed Mutahi Ngunyi's advice.

Juliana Cherera was among the three commissioners Irene Mast, Justus Nyang'aya, and Francis Wanderi who claimed that the final tallying of the results of the presidential election was opaque.

According to Mutahi Ngunyi, the four embattled electoral commissioners should resign just as scrutiny is mounting over their future in the commission.

"Honourable thing for the Cherera four is to resign from IEBC. It is that simple," Ngunyi said in a tweet.

The honorable thing for the CHERARA FOUR is to Resign from IEBC. It is that SIMPLE.— Mutahi Ngunyi (@MutahiNgunyi) December 2, 2022.

Cholera has made it clear that she consulted her lawyers, family, and friends before deciding to go home because being in IEBC was untenable. She is clear that the fear for her life following president Ruto's utterances left her with no other option but to quit.
