Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati on Wednesday broke into a hearty laughter, orchestrated by a United Nations (UN) official.
The first term County boss hosted representatives of various organisations among them Safaricom, Flying Doctors Society Africa and the United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA), before holding a joint press conference at his office.
The organisations are supporting the ongoing fistula camp in Webuye.
UNFPA Kenyan representative Dr Ademola Olajide said governor Wangamati had provided a stable leadership, which continues to attract partnerships with various entities.
"I have also heard your request regarding the focal counties. When we choose our focal counties we look for leadership. We look for committed leadership; we look for policy, we look for domestic resources and we look for the results," he said.
He continued, "So that we are able to partner with them to get results. You know when you see a monkey flying from tree to tree, it is not only displaying acrobatic skills. It is also showing you that the trees are close together. And that speaks to partnership."
He said as the governor and those who attended the press briefing broke into laughter.
