Former Majority Leader Amos Kimunya Reflects On 2022, Reveals His Next Move In This New Year

2022, the year that was!

Today we welcome the new year 2023, with all the hopes, resolutions and expectations. As I look back into 2022, I realize there’s little to complain about, and a lot to be thankful for.

My family and I continued to be blessed with good health, including our 97year mom. I had a good finish of my term as Leader of Majority with key bills legislated. We completed our tour of duty in Kipipiri in August as we were excused through the election from further engagement.

Despite the initial shock, we were happy the elections were peaceful across the country, a sign our democracy is maturing. We are generally satisfied with the work we have done in Kipipiri and the country, the hearts and lives we have touched, over the 15 years that we served.

Our footprints are spread all over Kipipiri. I say ‘we’ recognizing the immense role Lucy has played in Kipipiri - from community mobilisation, sorting out orphans and the vulnerable, expansive tree planting, name it and she has been there with it. Ours was a ‘vote one, get one free’. The ‘we’ also includes the wonderful teams we worked with in the community as well as in the offices. To all those, may God continue blessing you.

After August, we have decided to continue serving humanity in other ways. We are now concentrating on our flagship education project, The Foothills School Kipipiri . We took the decision to extend the opportunity of provision of quality education to girls, and embarked on the construction of the required hostel, additional teachers housing, sports facilities expansion, and staff recruitment. As we start the new year, we are all excited with the progress, and can comfortably say, Karibu to the girls.

We will also continue socialising with friends on the golfing circles, providing mentorships, and advisory services whenever requested.

We wish you all a blessed 2023, and pray that all your dreams come true". Said Hon. Amos Kimunya
