Elgeiyo marakwet senatarial race will interesting race as current Senator of Elgeiyo Marakwet Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Will be defending his seat against the current Governor of Elgeiyo marakwet Eng Alex Tolgos Of Jubilee party.Another Candidate For Elgeiyo Marakwet Senatorial seat is Peter K Yego.
Current Elgeiyo Marakwet Governor will find it difficult contesting with Murkomen since the county is UDA stronghold and the current senetor has been favoured considering that he is very strong supporter of william Ruto. Murkomen will be seeking for re-election for the third term .
The latest opinion poll conducted and released by Mizani Africa has revealed that Kipchumba Murkomen is still the most preffered candidate for the senate position for EMC followed from far by Eng. Alex Tolgos who is the current Governor and lastly Peter K Yego.
In the result, Murkomen was Ranked the first with 83% followed by Togos with 9.5% then Yego with 6% and the undecided stands at 1.2%
