Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Hon Ngunjiri Wambugu, has claimed that all the presidential candidates and hopefuls have high expectations that President Uhuru Kenyatta would endorse one of them for presidency in upcoming 2022 general elections.
Speaking on an interview with Citizen television at Wang'uru International Stadium in Kirinyaga County today during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, Ngunjiri argued that Deputy President Dr William Ruto is also eyeing for president Uhuru Kenyatta's endorsement.
He cannot claim that Raila is a state project while deep in his heart, he also expects to be endorsed as all other leaders even in One Kenya Alliance (OKA) are wishing that the Head of State can declare his support to them.
"Off course President Uhuru Kenyatta has a voice and big influence in Mt Kenya region, and every presidential candidate is wishing for his endorsement. Deputy President William Ruto will also be happy to be endorsed by president Uhuru Kenyatta, he is also wishing for it just as other aspirants including OKA are wishing. Therefore he cannot claim that Raila Odinga is a state project Raila is a person who has run for president is five times, how can he be a project?" He said.
