It seems former Mathira member of parliament who is the current Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has started to clear all those individuals who supported former prime minister Raila Odinga during the august presidential election.
As relayed by Nation, two chiefs in Mathira are now in panic after allegedly receiving a call from DP Gachagua urging them to look for something else to do.
The duo, George Mukabi and Dadson Ithiru revealed that DP Gachagua called them on Monday between 8pm to 9:30pm threatening to axe them by ' paying back what they sowed'.
" At first, I panicked and was a bit apprehensive because it is a very rare call and I didn’t know what he was up to", one said.
" He informed me that in the meantime, I should be looking for something else to do because I will be going home. I could not start arguing with such a senior person. However, I tried to explain myself, but he could hear none of it” he added.
Despite reporting, nothing has been done with authority terming gachagua's move as ' nothing to worry about'.
Gachagua's bold decision comes off just few days after vowing to axe all public servants who campained against Kenya Kwanza's chief William Ruto in the August presidential election.
Ideally, DP Gachagua has taken his political rivalry with Raila Odinga on a higher note towards ordinary kenyans who were practicing their rights. It's therefore wrong for him to order for their sacking even if they didn't stand with Ruto.
Meanwhile, we will have to wait and see what happens next. Lastly, do you think Gachagua is making a good move in sacking chiefs who supported Odinga?
