The vote tallying process for the elections is currently underway, and a large number of candidates for members of parliament are being validated across the board. On the other hand, some candidates have already conceded defeat in the various constituencies after conducting their own independent vote tallying.

However, a Member of Parliament elected from Nyeri County could not contain his emotions when he was informed that he had won the seat for which he had been campaigning. He was overcome with emotion.
The trustworthy reports that we have with us come from Nation Media, and they state that the newly elected Member of Parliament for Nyeri town was seen on video expressing tears of joy.
At the Nyeri Polytechnic Tallying Center on the 11th of August 2022, Duncan Maina Mathenge, who was running for office on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket, was observed crying as he was announced as the winner.
Duncan Maina Mathenge was victorious over his primary opponent by a significant margin to win the election for the seat of Nyeri Town Member of Parliament on a ticket sponsored by the United Democratic Alliance.
