Deputy President William Ruto yesterday breath fire in Kajiado at the home of Kajiado east constituency member of parliament hon Peris Tobiko while he was addressing the hustler nation fraternity in that area.
While addressing the people, deputy president called off those men with the habit of insulting women leaders or any woman in the society saying the behavior I'd uncouth, unpleasant and uncalled for.
"And I want to talk to male leaders. Those men who have the audacity to stand up and abuse women should be ashamed of themselves," he said.
He said such men who abuses ladies should not be given any chance whatsoever to lead the country or to lead anywhere not even a herd of cattle.
"Any man who abuses women is not worth any form of leadership. In fact he is an embarrassment and a disgrace to the entire nation. You cannot abuse our mothers, you cannot abuse our women no matter what position your are looking for," he said.
" But I want to say that contrary to abusing women, you Kajiado east constituency residents have shown that a woman can lead. You elected her (Peris Tobiko) for the first time and for the second time," he added.
Ruto's words comes just days after Aden duale stood to the floor of parliament and told kisumu county women representative Rosa Buyu Akinyi that she should stop lecturing him as he was not her boyfriend. He said that Rosa buyu does not qualify to be his boyfriend as she was not his type. Words which led to members of parliament led by Millicent Odhiambo fuming.
"Madam speaker, I want to ask honorable Rosa Buyu to sit down. You are not my boyfriend and you cannot lecture me on anything. Please have a sit. Madam speaker I want to make it clear that Rosa Buyu does not qualify to be my girlfriend," honorable Duale said.
