President William Ruto's Cabinet Secretaries and Kenyan judges are in trouble after latest revelation on what the International Monetary Fund(IMF) and Kenyan Government agreed to do. The IMF recently approved Ksh. 52.7 Billion to Kenya to facilitate the country"s economic plan even though it came with tough conditions.
Among the tough conditions issued by IMF to Kenyan Government after issuing them with a loan is for the State to adopt global standards in tracking new wealth of politically exposed persons. The Business Daily has revealed that Kenya plans to track financial dealings of high ranking Politicians including the President and allies from next year in fresh commitments to the IMF aimed at locking the country from being locked out of Global Financial systems for money laundering.
Lawyer Ahmednasir while reacting to the latest conditions by IMF has now claimed that International bodies like IMF and World Bank have taken over functions of critical Independent institutions made to deal with corruption. SC Ahmednasir has stated that it's a sad situation that Kenyan Government cannot take runaway corruption in the country by themselves.
"Looks like when it comes to anti-corruption and good governance matters, the IMF and World Bank have now taken over the functions of critical but moribund institutions in Kenya...SAD! " Lawyer, Ahmednasir's tweet.
The latest move by IMF will be able to keep the President and his Cabinet Secretaries in check unlike in the previous Administration when there was no one to keep the CSs and Judges in check.
