Deputy President William Ruto has angrily responded to the new demands issued by the Mt Kenya Unity Forum Led by Narc Party Leader Hon Martha Karua, Gatundu South Member of Parliament Hon Moses Kuria, and their counterpart in Laikipia County Hon Festus Mwangi Kiunjuri, that he (Ruto) must pass through them for any Mt Kenya region's support.
According to the report by Inooro Tv on Monday, the second in command has now ignored Mwangi Kiunjuri's latest demand for allowing the formation of many Mt Kenya parties, after claiming that such things have been bypassed by time and such attempts will erode all gains made since the 1992 general election.
"I have heard that some people are now demanding that I must go through them, for me to secure their votes. Those are politics of blackmail, backwardness, and irrelevance. We are focused on building an outfit (UDA) that will consist of everyone. Does that means that if you don't. have a political party, you can't be elected? We don't want to engage in village parties' politics please," Ruto said as reported by Inoroo Tv.
