Laikipia is listed among Mt Kenya counties, Mt Kenya being a region that former Premier has been very keen on thanks to its impressive numerical might.
He has repeatedly visited the country in the company of area governor Ndiritu Muriithi, even as he is now being cautioned of tough times ahead.
Mariru on Tuesday said that Raila has no business going there and should consider not bothering as what awaits him there is humiliating rejection.
He said that rather, the region is with Deputy President William Ruto and will vote for him to the last man when it comes to the presidential vote.
"I want to warn someone called Baba (Raila) that we will not accept him here in Laikipia. This is the Hustler' zone," he said in a rally in his constituency.
The parliamentarian made the remarks while in the company of Ruto, according to a recording posted on the DP's Facebook account.
Ruto asked the county to embrace the six piece voting manner and elect UDA aspirants from the ward representative position up to the presidential level.
He also asked them to embrace and work with his party, saying that the time for small regional parties are gone and the way to go is a few national ones.
Ruto asked the region to shun Raila and elect him instead, once again refering to the former Premier as a party breaker who shouldn't be allowed near power.
"Who will you elect? The man of riddles or the Hustler? Allow me to help you with the staggering economy, youth unemployment and rising costs of doing agricultural activities," he added.
Interestingly, his remarks against regional parties were made in the home turf of TSP party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri, whose support for small parties and refusal to fold his outfit is seen as the reason behind his fallout with the DP.
