Meet The Man Who Used To Drive Uhuru And His Siblings To School Everyday

His name is Robert Mugo Mboi. He is a 78 year old man who lives in Gatumbi village, Gichugi constituency, Kirinyaga county. He is a retired GSU constable who served from 1966 to 1997. He used to as a gateman at Jomo Kenyatta's home in Gatundu long time ago when Kenyatta was in power.

Interestingly in an interview, Mugo revealed that he was the one who used to drive Jomo Kenyatta's children including the fourth president, Uhuru Kenyatta, his brother Muhoho Kenyatta and his sister Nyokabi Kenyatta back in 1972 .He used to drive them to school everyday from Gatundu to St.Mary's school in Nairobi in the mornings at 8:00am and evenings at 5:00pm.

Mugo went on to say that during that time he was promised a car by Uhuru's father but the promise was never fulfilled after Jomo Kenyatta's death. Up to now the old man still feels like he needs appreciation from Kenyatta's family. He says that he needs land and also jobs for his three graduate children who have none. Currently, he does farming at his village home.
