Deputy President William Ruto has made several promises to Uasin Gishu County residents should his team emerge victorious in the August 9 polls.

Speaking in Eldoret on Sunday, May 22, the second in command said he will create 50,000 jobs for the residents. He went on to add that his government will build more than 10, 000 affordable housing units for Eldoret residents. He also promised to nominate an extra MP from the country alongside two MCAs from the Luhya and Luo communities.

In a report by The Star Newspaper, Ruto, who spoke shortly after attending a church service at PCEA Langas, drummed support for the area MP Oscar Sudi, Governor Jackson Mandago and other UDA nominees. He pleaded with the locals to support and vote for UDA candidates in the area, arguing that doing so will make his work easier should he clinch the country's top seat.

"I promise that I will not let you down, and as my people, do not let anyone come here and make plans for you," he said.

He reiterated that Kenya Kwanza coalition would invest in job creation to help expand the economy.

"Our first job will be expansion of the economy through job creation for the youths in this country."

He dismissed Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition's plans claiming they were only focused on reviving the BBI and creating positions for themselves.
