Mt Kenya Party Led by Former Governor Has Decamped Azimio to Kenya Kwanza in Karen, Nairobi

Some of the parties that were considered to be minority and were either running on their own or were linked with Azimio have been decamping to the Kenya Kwanza Coalition since since it was announced by Wafula Chebukati that the Deputy President William Ruto will become the next President of Kenya after being issued with the certificate.

Today, a small party from the Mount Kenya East area joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition led by William Ruto. This activity took place in the residence of the Deputy President in Karen.

The Democratic Empowerment Party (DEP), more often referred to as BUS and headed by Kiraitu Murungi, a former governor of Meru, has formally distanced itself from the general leadership of Raila Odinga in Azimio. In the tweet, Ruto claimed that their determination to collaborate with Kenya Kwanza is evidence that the leaders believe that the interests of Kenyans are more important than the interests of either themselves or their respective parties.
