One former Commissioner of the independent electoral and boundaries commission who also served as the commission vice chairperson and another commissioner who is is still active in the commission have made a surprise move.
In a petition before the High Court in Meru, former IEBC vice chairperson Juliana Cherera and Commissioner Irene Masit are protesting after someone moved to court to have them saved from the wrath of the tribunal formed by president William Ruto.
Commissioner Masit and Cherera argued that they do not wish to be enjoined in the case to save them as they do not know the motive of those behind the move. They said they already have an active case at the High Court on the matter.

"I don't want to be involved in this case because I do not know the intentions of the petitioners, and we do not know where they came from. If you give orders that will be adverse to my client (Irene Masit). It prejudices my case before the High Court in Nairobi and before the tribunal,” lawyer Donald Kipkorir argued on their behalf.
