Martha Karua as the leader took her Azimio brigade to Nanyuki which was thought to be held by Kenya Kwanza. Azimio pulled a big crowd in Nanyuki filling every space in Nanyuki town. Since Karua was chosen as Raila's she has been hitting the ground to popularize Azimio in Mt. Kenya.
Mt. Kenya was thought to be Ruto stronghold but the narrative is slowly changing and Karua mobilization techniques are bearing fruits. Kenya Kwanza alliance today took their campaigns to Western part of the county and the small turnout has raised eyebrows in the region and Musalia Mudavadi and Wetangula should start thinking where to produce 70% votes they were asked to bring to Kenya Kwanza.
Considering the number that Azimio has pulled today it is clear that Mt. Kenya is no longer Kenya Kwanza stronghold and both the coalitions has to fight their own ways to be crowned the winner of the Mountain region.
