Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala's home"/>The United democratic party secretary general, Cleophas Malala has announced his new role after being sworn in as UDA secretary general. According to Malaa, he will be sitting in the cabinet not as a cabinet secretary but to do a follow up on the decisions made.
In his capacity, he will be co-opted as the cabinet secretary. However, the public will be interested to know whether he will receive remuneration from the taxpayers or he will only be paid by the party. With creation of CAs posts, the government wage bill is going to be an issue as it has been before.
For Cleophas and his supporters, the new development are a plus following his defeat in Kakamega gubernatorial. And considering, the role he played in ensuring the prime cabinet secretary Musalia joins president Ruto prior 2022 elections, it is a well deserved appointment.
The cabinet has 22 ministers as guided by the constitution and they all have a significant role to ensure that the government delivers.
