Why One Kenya Alliance Will Be A Game Changer And Determinant In 2022 Presidential Race

The polarisation of the Kenyan political arena has gone down in the past month thanks to the Covid 19 pandemic that put a halt to all political gatherings and activities in the country.

However, scheming and planning for the next year's elections are ongoing behind the scenes. Different political players who have expressed interest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta after his second term in 2022 are all hitting the road in trying to strategically position and packaging themselves as the best choice for Kenyans.

The former NASA Principals Hon Musalia Mudavadi of the ANC party, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Democratic Party and Hon Moses Masika Wetangula who is the Senator for Bungoma county and the Ford Kenya party leader have come together with KANU National chair and Baringo Senator Hon Gideon Moi to form the One Kenya Alliance.

One Kenya Alliance has been crafted as a formation that will unite Kenyans and offer solutions to the challenges that befall this country.

It is playing out that the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is narrowing down to a three-horse race. Deputy President Dr William Ruto has proven to be a formidable candidate and a force to reckon come 2022.

ODM leader Hon Raila Odinga has also come out and re-engineered himself as a man to beat after the handshake with President Uhuru. The handshake has diluted the animosity that existed between Raila and the Mount Kenya region making him a serious candidate in the coming general election.

As the race may be seen and has previously been pronounced DP Ruto on live TV that it will be a contest between Raila Odinga and William Ruto, the one Kenya Alliance will play a pivotal role in deciding who becomes the president.

One Kenya Alliance as currently constituted will get a considerable number of votes that can either earn them a win or deny the winner a 50+1 per cent.

If One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate comes third in the race, then the person they will back in the re-run will emerge as the winner.

What is your take on this, will the One Kenya Alliance produce the next president and who should be their flag bearer?
