Kisumu has been well known for its strong support to the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga. However lately, the current administration has advanced its popularity to the insides of Kisumu. 
This is seen to be a new move since the previous political contest in the previous 2022 polls.The latest development being the newly established United Democratic Alliance party office in Kisumu. The office was officiated by the party secretary General Hon Cleophas Malala. What is yet to be established is how the party will perform in the region as considered the opposition leader continues to call for mass action against the government.
In the words of UDA secretary General, he believes that with time kisumu and its environs will fully embrace the ruling party and become part of the government and it's development agendas. So far the opposition leader has not said a word since the UDA invasion to his stronghold.
