Another Party Walks Away From The Azimio Coalition Citing The Coalition As A Dynastic Enterprise.

The Kenya Union Party (KUP) through the party leader has distanced itself from Azimio's consultative meeting scheduled to take place at Jacaranda Grounds on Wednesday, 7 2022.

While addressing the media on Tuesday, Kenya Union Party leader John Lonyangapuo accused the Coalition for failing to consult affiliate parties before arriving to the conclusion of holding the much anticipated rally.

"We have come out to dissociate ourselves with the approach that is being introduced now where in our Azimio coalition there was no consultation," he said.

Lonyangapuo while castigating the planned rally as a threat to democracy, he added that there are better ways of solving problems which are friendly to the stability of the country.

"The Azimio coalition represents the greatest threat to democracy, the rule of law, and national cohesion in our nation's recent history.

"Arising thereof, today we lay bare the instrument that were meant to hold the coalition together and to guide our path forward so that Kenyans may see the deceitful nature of the current arrangement," he explained

Lonyangapuo also added that his party has been looked down upon by the Azimio Coalition and that this disregard is clearly showcased by the recent EALA nominations that saw the son of Kalonzo Musyoka and the daughter of Raila Odinga nominated to represent the coalition and the country in the EALA assembly.

"The just concluded EALA nominations affirm Azimio is a dynastic enterprise that in reality is a personal vessel for a chosen few," Lonyangapuo lamented.

The meeting at Jacaranda on Wednesday 7th has been termed by the coalition principals as a consultative meeting aimed at discussing the state of the nation. The coalition leader Fomer Prime minister Raila Odinga dismissed the reports that what the coalition is planning is a demonstration.
