All heads of counties have also ensured that the limited resources are channelled to the most important sectors that will ensure adequate offering of quality services to the society.
Honourable , Peter Anyang' Nyong'o is one of the performing governors in Kenya. We have observed a number of transformations in Kisumu county ever since he was elected. The following are some of his main projects that have helped the people of Kisumu county improve their lives.
1. Construction of Otonglo Market.
Markets are trading centres where exchange of farm products and other goods & services occurs. The construction of the market will really many people in the process of acquisition of incomes to sustain themselves and improve their living standards. Farmers will minimize the issue of westage of their farm produce due to lack of adequate potential markets.
2. Construction and Maintanance of roads.
The transport system is the main facilitator of quality services. Well developed roads influence several sectors including agriculture, business, education, health etc. Governor Nyong'o has helped Kisumu county have a better look in terms of road construction. Kisumu-Miwani road, Kisumu-Kakamega road, introduction of a car-free day cycling lanes and walkways around the Central Business District (CBD) are among his transformative projects.
3. Movement of Kisumu Girls and Kisumu Boys from CBD
Professor Nyong'o ordered for movement of the two national schools from the city centre to facilitate commercial functions. This was a huge move that will help manifestation of the commercial centres that contribute a lot even to the gross domestic product of the country.
