Mutahi Ngunyi, a political commentator and scientist, has issued a warning to Deputy President William Ruto about what lies in store for him ahead of the general elections in August. In the warning, he reveals that the Kikuyu community is likely to betray him even after he has trusted them for a long time.
According to his post, Ngunyi issued a warning that the Kikuyu community, like any other community, will listen to their own son and not an outsider like Deputy President William Ruto, who is from the Kalenjin community. Ruto is also the current President of Kenya.
For example, Ngunyi provided an illustration of how Oparanya, the kingpin of the Luyha community, will give a direction to his community rather than the Kamba community, similar to how Deputy President William Ruto has blocked lanes from the Kalenjin community in order to give the Kikuyu community a direction.
Ngunyi has also remarked that ever since Martha Karua was appointed as Raila Odinga's running mate, she has acquired popularity due to her national renown, and as a result, she has earned the title of The Kikuyu community Leader.
Because of this, he has instructed the second in command to place himself in a position of betrayal. He believes that anything can take place before the general elections in August, and that Martha Karua will decide his fate by indicating the path that the community ought to take.
