The next general election is drawing closer. Political leaders across the country have embarked on their nationwide campaigns to popularize themselves ahead of the next polls. Top presidential aspirants have been hosting various delegations and holding mega rallies in different parts of the country.
Today deputy president William Ruto hosted UDA aspirants from three Maasai counties at his official residence in Karen. The delegation included aspirants from Nakuru, Narok and Kajiado counties. The three counties are largely inhabited by Maasai community.
Speaking during the meeting, the deputy president said that parties should have a national outlook. He further said that national parties will boost national unity and drive national development agenda. He popularized his UDA party and assured the aspirants of a free and fair nominations.
Various leaders allied to UDA party were present. The leaders includes Muranga senator Irungu Kangata, Nakuru senator Susan Kihika, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, MP Johanna Ngeno, MP Gideon Keter, MP Katoo Ole Metito, Nyandarua women representative Jane Kihara, MP Liza Chelule and nominated MP David Sankok.
Several UDA officials were also present. The UDA officials were led by UDA secretary general Veronica Maina.
